The service
AnonymizeVideo.app detects faces and vehicle plates in video and applies blur, pixelation or a solid block over them. All processing happens in your browser on your own device.
The tool is provided free of charge, with a watermark applied to exported files. Removing the watermark requires a one-off payment and an account.
No guarantee of complete redaction
This is important. Automatic detection is not perfect. It can miss a face that is small, blurred, turned away, partly hidden or unusually lit, and it can miss a plate that is dirty, angled or distant. The review step exists precisely because of this.
You are responsible for checking the exported video before you share it. Do not treat an export as safe to publish without watching it. Where footage is genuinely sensitive — legal disclosure, a protected source, a vulnerable person — review it frame by frame, and treat this tool as something that saves you time rather than something that removes the need to check.
We make no warranty that every identifying feature has been detected or obscured.
Your responsibilities
You must have the right to process the footage you use with this tool, and you are responsible for how you use the result. Do not use the site to break the law or to interfere with anyone else’s rights.
Whether a particular disclosure meets your legal or regulatory obligations is a decision for you or your advisers. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
Payment and refunds
Watermark removal is a one-off payment of £10, processed by Stripe, granting watermark-free exports on your account. Because the tool is fully usable for free before you pay, you can confirm it does what you need before spending anything.
If the paid feature does not work as described, email hello@anonymizevideo.app and we will refund you.
Availability and liability
The site is provided as-is. We do not guarantee it will always be available or free of faults, and we may change or withdraw features.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
