Blur Bodycam Footage

Automatically blur faces in body camera recordings

Prepare body-worn camera footage for review or publication by automatically detecting and blurring faces. AnonymizeVideo.app runs entirely in your browser, so even sensitive recordings stay on your own device while you redact them.

Redact before footage leaves the team

Body-worn cameras capture whoever is in front of them — members of the public, bystanders, complainants and colleagues — often in tense or private situations. Before that footage is used for training, shared in an internal review, or released publicly, the faces of uninvolved people usually need to be obscured.

Doing that by hand, frame by frame, is slow. AnonymizeVideo.app detects and tracks faces automatically and blurs them across the whole recording. And because all processing happens locally in the browser, the original bodycam file is never uploaded to a third-party service — which matters when the footage is sensitive or restricted.

Made for review & release

🔒 Stays on your device

Sensitive recordings are processed in your browser and never uploaded, so the footage doesn't leave your control.

🎯 Tracks across the clip

Faces are followed as people and the camera move, keeping bystanders blurred consistently from start to finish.

🧑‍⚖️ Review-friendly

Inspect every detected face and choose blur, pixelate or a solid block — applying the right level of redaction for each use case.

🎞️ Keeps the record intact

The scene, timing and audio stay in place, so the footage remains useful as a record while identities are obscured.

How it works

Three steps, all in your browser — no software to install.

Add the recording

Drop in the MP4 or MOV from your body-worn camera. It stays on your device — nothing is uploaded.

Detect & review

Faces are detected and tracked across the footage. Review each one and choose how it's redacted.

Export

Download the redacted video, ready for training, internal review or public release.

Frequently asked questions

Is bodycam footage uploaded to be processed?

No. All detection and blurring happens locally in your browser. The footage is never sent to a server or third party, which is important for restricted material.

Can I keep certain people visible?

Yes. After the scan you can review each detected face and decide which to blur and which to leave, depending on the purpose of the footage.

Does it handle camera movement?

Yes. Sticky tracking follows faces as both the wearer and the people in frame move, so bystanders stay blurred throughout.

What about a stronger redaction than blur?

As well as blur you can apply pixelation or a solid block for a more complete obscuring of faces before release.
